Many years ago a trip to the cinema meant you had to first watch a public information film before the main movie, these mini soap operas would also frequently be shown in the gaps between programs on all the T V channels. During the late 1970’s & early 1980s it seemed that not a day would go by without me having to watch this government funded propaganda telling me I shouldn’t drink, smoke or even have sex. These movies were the inspiration for this song and the words just fell into place.
